"look after the land, and it will look after you"
We breed Angus and Angus Wagyu X cattle. Angus have a reputation for being a bit cranky some times, but we rarely have an angry animal on the place, and if we do – we know that we need to look for the cause.
The video below is how easy it can be to move your animals when you have regular, calm and consistent contact.
Just before I thought to film this, I stood at the closed gate and called the cattle with a simple “C’mon”. The cows now know this means they’re on the move and will come to the gate or where ever you are calling them to. They bunch up so that we make sure no one is left behind, and then open the gate to let them through. As they come through we double check that everyone is present and accounted for by doing a simple head count.
